It has been a busy quarter at the office of CCC. We have been dealing with many issues facing the province-be it Education, Health, Energy, Agricultural and Stakeholder Relations to name a few. In addition, I have recently published a new book, with the help of the CCC team, entitled, “Overall well-being of New Brunswickers. Copies of the book are available at our office. All proceeds will go towards the cost of running the organization. While there are a few interesting stories in the book, it should be considered a reference book, written in four parts, each section giving you a wealth of information and data.
We are pleased to produce our March Newsletter which focuses on education in the K-12 school system. While we may be critical of the delivery of services and poor results, we are not unique, as similar problems exist in other provinces in Canada and United States. However, being a bilingual province presents its own set of challenges.
In an effort to break down silos, we are hosting an education summit on April 18 whereby various stakeholders have an opportunity to outline their challenges and share ideas. From this summit, it is our desire to form a Secretariat to include representatives from EECD, Universities, Parents, Principals, Teachers, Business leaders and Students. In so doing, we hope to create a path forward to equip our kids to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Tickets to attend the summit can be purchased at Eventbrite or at our office. Finally, it is expensive to run an office of this nature. We need help. As such we are giving you an opportunity to be part of an organization that can make a difference. Attached is a summary of the benefits. We are asking for a $100 annual membership fee, or $10 per month. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. Thank you! Daryl
